About the Role
As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver products to customers' homes, providing excellent service with a smile. This role is hands-on, physical, and varied, offering the opportunity to be your own boss while having the support of a team. Responsibilities
- Ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organized.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy back yard, free of rubbish, and picking up litter.
- Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness.
- Communicating with customers about order changes, including short codes and substitutions, and offering refunds.
- Handling products and deliveries with care.
- Explaining to customers that they will not be charged extra for substitutions.
- Delivering within the customer's specified time slot.
- Calling customers if arriving early.
- Contacting the store or center if running 30 or more minutes late.
Requirements
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and improve the store for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, understanding customer needs and expressing gratitude.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace in-store changes.
- Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations, balancing work and home life.
- Share ideas with management and colleagues for store improvement.
- Hold a UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Adhere to GB Domestic Driving Rules.
- Be over 18 years old if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or involves working in specific areas like the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, counters, bakery, or driving roles.

Salary/Compensations
- £14.18 per hour
- £15.45 per hour for stores inside the M25
