About the Role
MATTE is seeking an Editing Intern with a strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and social content effectiveness. The intern will transform raw footage into short-form content, collaborating with post-production leads and creatives, and exploring AI tools to enhance the editing workflow.
Responsibilities
- Edit short-form social content and cutdowns for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube, with guidance from post-production leads and creatives.
- Support the editing process from footage review and initial assembly through revisions, versioning, and final exports.
- Help build and refine AI-assisted workflows for transcription, rough-cut assembly, captioning, and asset organization.
- Maintain organized project files, consistent naming conventions, and platform-specific export settings.
- Participate in creative reviews and learn how feedback shapes pacing, storytelling, and final edits.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a university undergraduate or master’s program.
- Must be available for a minimum of 16 hours per week, working two days on-site at our New York City offices.
- Must be available for the full program, from February 3 through May 12, 2027.
- All internships begin February 3, 2027.
Skills
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Claude and other AI tools
- Basic motion graphics skills or familiarity with Adobe After Effects
- Experience using scripting or structured prompts to build repeatable AI-assisted workflows
