About the Role
This role is a front-office facing position at the heart of a strategic eFX platform change, acting as a liaison between trading desks, vendors, and internal Technology to translate trading requirements into a clear delivery plan and coordinate migration across multiple desks.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with traders, sales, and desk heads to capture, document, and prioritize trading requirements for the new platform.
- Map current-state eFX workflows on the existing aggregation platform, covering liquidity provider connectivity, price aggregation, order routing, client price distribution, and downstream booking and STP.
- Conduct gap analysis between the current and new vendor systems, identifying functional, workflow, and control gaps, and agreeing on remediation or workarounds with stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary business liaison with the vendor's team, collaborating on configuration, functional specifications, issue resolution, and delivery milestones.
- Establish and manage regular working groups with trading desks, the vendor, Technology, and Operations, setting agendas, facilitating decisions, tracking actions, and driving issue resolution.
- Plan and project manage the migration across desks, including liquidity provider and venue onboarding, client migration sequencing, parallel running, cutover, and decommissioning of the legacy platform.
- Define and coordinate UAT with traders and Technology, including test scenarios for pricing, execution, order types, credit checks, and downstream booking.
- Collaborate with Technology on FIX connectivity, integration with internal pricing, risk, and booking systems, and market data requirements.
- Engage Risk, Compliance, and Operations on pre-trade credit controls and the regulatory and control implications of the platform change, including best execution and MiFID II reporting.
- Maintain delivery plans, RAID logs, and dependencies, providing progress reports to the programme lead and steering committee.
- Contribute to the wider system rationalisation programme by identifying opportunities to simplify the eFX technology estate.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Front Office Business Analyst or BA/PM within eFX, ideally on a trading platform, aggregator, or vendor system implementation or migration.
- Strong understanding of eFX market structure and workflows, including liquidity aggregation, ESP and RFQ/RFS pricing, smart order routing, liquidity provider and venue connectivity, and last look.
- Hands-on experience with third-party eFX aggregation or trading platforms (vendor or in-house).
- Solid FX product knowledge across Spot, Forwards, Swaps, and NDFs.
- Working knowledge of the FIX protocol and the integration of trading platforms with pricing, risk, booking, and STP infrastructure.
- Experience managing third-party vendors through requirements, specification, testing, and delivery.
- Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating delivery across multiple desks and stakeholder groups.
- Confident and credible engaging with traders, able to challenge and prioritize requirements under time pressure.
- Excellent documentation skills, including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and test plans.
- Awareness of MiFID II requirements relevant to electronic trading (best execution, transaction reporting, algorithmic trading controls) is advantageous.
