About the Role
Operate liquid vacs or guzzlers, support Environmental Dept. with drum pickups and spill responses, and assist Construction Dept. as needed. This role is ideal for a dependable driver who enjoys variety and staying busy.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial vacuum trucks, including lifting, carrying, and pulling hoses up to 100 pounds, climbing on the unit, and performing minor maintenance.
- Verify accuracy of waste-related paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading, and land disposal restriction forms, and ensure proper placarding.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain required DOT logs.
- Assist the Environmental team with picking up tanks and drums from customer sites.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload tanks and drums, adhering to proper labeling, handling, and documentation procedures.
- Support the Construction Department with light construction labor, such as shoveling, lifting and carrying materials, and general site cleanup, when no vac or environmental work is scheduled.
- Adhere to all safety protocols of MPS and host facilities, along with DOT regulations and all applicable laws.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Clean CDL-B with Haz-Mat & Tank Endorsements (required). Class A preferred with no restrictions on manual transmissions.
- 2 Years of Liquid Vac or Guzzler experience (preferred).
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
- Ability to utilize mobile technology (iPad, tablet, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adjust between departments and tasks as daily workload changes.
- Able to perform physical labor, including shoveling and lifting, and to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Job requires frequent kneeling, bending, handling, reaching, and standing.
