About the Role

As Business Operations Manager, Club & Rec Sports and Academics, you will play a central role in driving growth and performance within Rocket Youth’s Club and Rec divisions. You will serve as an extension of the leadership teams, with the primary goal of profitably growing our businesses while offering strong operational support to our local partners. This role is designed as a launchpad into full P&L ownership and general management of various partner-company P&Ls.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement growth levers across both Club and Rec businesses, including program and offering expansion, pricing strategy and promotional testing, and tournament/events strategy.
  • Support operators in growing enrollment, participation, and revenue while maintaining strong customer experience.
  • Introduce and scale best practices across portfolio companies.
  • Serve as a day-to-day partner to operators across multiple businesses.
  • Ensure strong execution of key seasonal and operational moments like tryouts, season launches, and events.
  • Drive organization, accountability, and follow-through across initiatives.
  • Act as a connector across HQ functions (Finance, HR, Marketing, IT, etc.).
  • Leverage reporting and dashboards to track enrollment, retention, participation trends, conversion metrics, and program performance.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for operators.
  • Support pricing, staffing, and programming decisions with data.
  • Understand and own performance across the full customer lifecycle: lead generation → inquiry → trial → enrollment → retention → reactivation.
  • Partner with Marketing and operators to improve speed-to-lead, follow-up consistency, and sales discipline.
  • Increase conversion rates from lead to trial and trial to enrollment.
  • Ensure marketing demand effectively translates into filled programs.
  • Drive enrollment growth through improved class/program utilization and scheduling efficiency.
  • Identify key drivers of churn and drop-off across programs and locations.
  • Implement practical retention strategies, including improved onboarding, early customer engagement, reactivation campaigns, and cross-sell/upsell.
  • Continuously improve customer experience to increase lifetime value while maintaining program quality and safety.
  • Support onboarding of newly acquired businesses.
  • Help assess current operations and identify growth opportunities.
  • Assist in implementing Rocket Youth systems, tools, and processes.
  • Enforce safety standards and compliance across businesses.
  • Partner with integration and functional teams to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Build trust with partners across both the Club and Rec sides of the business and support them in day-to-day operations.
  • Drive revenue and EBITDA growth via a focus on enrollment vs. pricing, by improving retention, customer lifetime value, utilization, and more.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in operations, business analysis, consulting, finance, or similar high-responsibility roles with exposure to youth sports/enrichment, multi-unit operations, or service businesses.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; thrives on accountability and results.
  • Clear and effective communicator who can build trust with operators and internal teams.
  • Both a tactical doer and a strategist — able to dive into details while driving long-term vision.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; comfortable learning and improving financial models.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a “roll up your sleeves” mindset — comfortable tackling both tactical tasks and bigger-picture challenges as they arise.
  • Passion for youth sports, learning, and long-term professional growth.
