About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning and design of low-voltage switchgear, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), and associated field wiring for ITM's megawatt-scale electrolysers. You will join our Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and implement technical requirements into engineering solutions.
- Create circuit diagrams and general arrangement drawings using EPLAN.
- Plan field wiring, cable trays, cable routes, and cable entries, including creating connection and terminal diagrams.
- Support the inspection and testing of finished systems.
- Continuously update knowledge of electrical regulations, technologies, and best practices.
- Actively participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines and departments like purchasing and project planning to ensure timely project completion.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field.
- Alternatively, further training as a state-certified technician (m/f/d) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, ideally with several years of professional experience in industrial electrical design.
- Sound professional experience in industrial electrical systems.
- Experience in the design and construction of CE-compliant switchgear and electrical installations according to EN 61439 and IEC 60364.
- Experience in creating circuit diagrams and general arrangement drawings using EPLAN or comparable electrical CAD software.
- Knowledge of design requirements according to the Machinery Directive and EMC Directive.
- Strong organizational skills, independent work style, and enjoyment of teamwork.
- Solution-oriented, hands-on mentality and willingness to actively contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High level of attention to detail and quality standards for technical documentation and drawings.
- Good spoken and written German and English language skills.
