About the Role

You will own GlassDollar's company data as a product, managing data collection, quality, cost, and future development. You will be part of the product team, reporting to the Product Owner, and will be responsible for addressing the current challenges of data ownership, classification, and the reliability of live data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the datapoint backlog, prioritizing based on value, cost, and quality.
  • Maintain the data dictionary and schema as the source of truth.
  • Develop and manage signals including funding, acquisitions, shutdowns, case studies, and headcount with accurate event dates and alerts for feed interruptions.
  • Oversee data quality, including coverage, accuracy, freshness, and completeness, with monthly measurements.
  • Manage the data budget, including vendors, APIs, scraping partners, and scouting efforts, testing sources before commitment and negotiating terms.
  • Oversee human-in-the-loop data collection and its integration into the database.
  • Participate in sprint planning and review.
  • Triage data errors reported by users and agents.
  • Prototype and ship datapoints, handing over scalable solutions to engineers.
  • Classify relationship data and measure its quality.
  • Ensure every feed has an owner and an alert.
  • Launch 3-5 new datapoints.
  • Set and achieve targets for the search benchmark.
  • Develop a data dictionary (v1) for the top 25 datapoints, including source, owner, user, and quality metrics.
  • Inventory all pipelines, vendor feeds, and scraping jobs with owners, runbooks, and alerts.
  • Scale partnership data point collection.
  • Develop a business case for next year's data budget, including cost per datapoint.
  • Define corporations and relationship types (mention, partnership, PoC, implementation, investment, acquisition).
  • Classify and clean existing records, report precision on samples, and classify new records.
  • Improve the relationship pipeline against recall and lag baselines.
  • Identify and integrate a live acquisition source.
  • Prevent acquired companies from appearing in recommendations.
  • Run time-boxed datapoint experiments (6-8), shipping 3-5.
  • Add provenance, confidence, and freshness to the top 25 fields.
  • Make customer data usable by agents with proper permissions.
  • Define the strategy for data breadth and depth, publishing a kill list.
  • Initiate monthly data reviews with product and internal customers.

Requirements

  • Business-first mindset with sufficient technical ability to ship independently.
  • Prioritize launching rough data quickly over perfect data later.
  • 5+ years of experience with company, market, or B2B data in a product, data, or operations role, preferably at a data business, marketplace, or SaaS company.
  • Proven experience owning an outcome with a budget and trade-offs within a product team.
  • Fluent in Python, including writing scrapers and enrichment scripts (requests or Playwright, pandas).
  • Strong SQL skills on a production Postgres database.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs for extraction and classification, measured on a labeled sample.
  • Practical experience with entity resolution and deduplication.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR for company and people data.
  • Ability to clearly explain data trade-offs to non-technical colleagues and leadership.
  • Based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
