About the Role

As a central interface for our renovation projects, you will be responsible for the development, establishment, and support of a company-wide standard for building element renovations and monument preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a standardized renovation manual.
  • Conduct systematic inventory analysis: recording, categorizing, and evaluating the current state of recurring building elements (e.g., windows, doors, ceilings, roofs, staircases, facade details).
  • Define renovation goals: setting technical, design, monument preservation, sustainability, and economic target corridors in close cooperation with internal and external planners.
  • Standardize: conceptualize standardized, feasible, and approvable renovation solutions for recurring components to increase cost certainty, efficiency, and resource-conscious implementation.
  • Create, coordinate, and document detailed plans (Red/Yellow plans) considering all legal and usage-related requirements.
  • Develop monument-appropriate color, material, and construction concepts in coordination with authorities and specialist planners.
  • Integrate a sustainable design approach to minimize resource consumption and promote reusability.
  • Coordinate interfaces with all involved specialist planners (structural engineering, fire protection, MEP, building physics).
  • Centrally coordinate and establish the renovation manual as a binding guideline for internal and external project participants.
  • Coordinate closely with monument protection authorities to ensure approval, including complete documentation.
  • Support economic evaluation and create a prioritized roadmap for phased renovation (budget, urgency, development processes).
  • Provide design and planning support for exemplary pilot renovations with internal construction management for quality assurance and documentation for future projects.

Requirements

  • Completed architectural studies (Dipl.-Ing. / M.Sc. / B.Sc.), ideally with a specialization in monument preservation or existing building renovation.
  • Several years of demonstrable professional experience in design and execution planning, preferably in a monument-protected context.
  • Sound expertise in developing constructive and design details and in structuring standardization processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of monument preservation law, inventory analysis, and a good understanding of tendering and construction process workflows.
  • Proficient in CAD (preferably ArchiCAD), MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills when dealing with authorities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Independent, structured, and goal-oriented work approach.
  • Fluent German language skills (C2) in spoken and written form.
