About the Role
Seven Education is developing an intelligent, AI-powered platform to help schools and educational institutions operate more efficiently. Our products reduce administrative tasks, improve communication, and enable educators, institutions, and educational leaders to focus on what truly matters: learning, growth, and people. As a European EdTech group with over 250 employees, we build intuitive, scalable solutions that simplify the daily lives of schools and educational institutions. Our software brings clarity, streamlines processes, and strengthens collaboration every day. We act with courage, ownership, and genuine collaboration, inspired by the impact our products have on the people at the heart of education. Our goal is clear: to become Europe's leading EdTech brand.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the ongoing accounting quality of the German and Austrian companies and actively support the month-end closings.
- You will gradually transfer manual workarounds in the closing process, such as revenue recognition, provisions, and accruals, to NetSuite.
- You will build central, documented standard processes for all companies, for example, for bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and recurring closing entries.
- You will develop Payhawk, from document recognition, cost centers, and approval logic to the interface with NetSuite, and drive the selection and implementation of a travel expense tool.
- You will automate reconciliations, analyses, and recurring bookings using the tools we already have.
- You will prepare the data for transfer pricing, i.e., service and cost flows as well as intercompany loans per company, provide it to our external consultants, and anchor the agreed logic in the systems.
- You will participate in the IFRS gap analysis and implement topics where local GAAP and IFRS diverge.
- You will manage the accounting side of the post-merger integration of new companies, from chart of accounts mapping and opening balance sheet to NetSuite onboarding.
- You will coordinate tax advisors, auditors, and banks across countries during the integration process.
Requirements
- You have practical accounting experience and have prepared at least one annual financial statement with real responsibility, not just audited or reviewed it.
- Ideally, you have worked in an environment with multiple companies or internationally.
- You are familiar with German Commercial Code (HGB) and accounting according to HGB.
- You independently retrieve and check data from the ERP without IT or controlling intervention, and build your own analyses in Excel at a modeling level.
- You speak and write German and English fluently, including in negotiations with consultants, auditors, and banks.
- You already use AI in your daily work, for example, for data analysis or automation, or you learn quickly.
- You critically review results before using them further.
- You bring topics to completion instead of just preparing them, keep multiple topics in view simultaneously, set clear priorities, and fix errors directly rather than passing them on.
- You work from goals and context rather than task lists, share responsibility with the Director Finance without waiting for tasks, and convince local management, consultants, and auditors even without formal authority.
