About the Role

Lead the design and delivery of full-stack insurance technology used by millions of Australians. Solve complex engineering challenges while mentoring talented engineers and influencing technical direction. Build with modern technologies including .NET Core, React/Angular, AWS, microservices, event-driven architecture and containers.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable full-stack solutions across customer-facing applications and backend services.
Remain hands-on with C#, .NET/.NET Core, APIs and modern frontend technologies including React or Angular.
Shape microservices, event-driven architecture and engineering patterns that improve reliability, security and performance.
Lead technical discussions and influence solution design and technology decisions.
Apply DevSecOps principles across build, deployment, monitoring and ongoing production ownership.
Mentor engineers, share knowledge and strengthen engineering capability across the team.
Experiment with emerging technologies and develop proofs of concept that can improve customer and engineering outcomes.
Champion continuous improvement, engineering excellence and customer-focused technology.

Requirements

Experienced full-stack engineer who enjoys remaining close to the technology while providing technical leadership.
Ability to turn complex problems into practical solutions.
Ability to influence stakeholders.
Ability to help engineers grow while maintaining strong engineering standards.
Strong C# and .NET experience, including .NET Core/.NET Framework, REST APIs, MVC, microservices, object-oriented programming and design patterns.
Frontend development experience with React or Angular, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
Interest in broadening capability across modern frameworks such as Next.js.
Experience designing distributed or event-driven systems, including technologies such as Kafka.
AWS cloud engineering and containerisation experience using Docker.
CI/CD and DevSecOps experience using tools such as GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins or Octopus Deploy.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or MongoDB.
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or Observe.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, influence stakeholders and mentor engineers in an Agile engineering environment.
