About the Role

The ANZ Sales Leader for Grid Automation is the primary commercial architect for the regional business, accountable for delivering at least USD $40 million in annual Order Intake (OI). This role serves as the lead strategist for GE Vernova’s automation footprint across Australia and New Zealand, defining the long-term country growth plan and aligning the digital and automation portfolio with regional grid modernization mandates and the energy transition. It requires a balance of executive-level strategic planning and hands-on engagement in complex deal negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own a comprehensive country strategy, identifying high-growth segments and allocating resources to maximize order intake and market share.
  • Champion GE Vernova’s reputation as the premier partner for grid stability and digital transformation through proactive campaigns.
  • Monitor regional energy trends, utility CAPEX cycles, and competitor behavior to launch effective 'Win-Back' initiatives and secure new business.
  • Take full ownership of the $40M+ OI budget, lead pipeline reviews, provide accurate forecasting, and manage commercial risk.
  • Personally spearhead critical 'must-win' negotiations and provide high-level commercial leadership for high-value, long-cycle projects.
  • Oversee the end-to-end sales funnel, implementing best-in-class pipeline management tools and value-based selling methodologies.
  • Bridge customer pain points with technical solutions, positioning the portfolio as the primary remedy for complex utility challenges.
  • Coach and mentor a geographically dispersed team, fostering a culture of accountability, commercial excellence, and entrepreneurial initiative.
  • Develop and scale a robust channel strategy, building relationships with Tier-1 EPC firms and System Integrators.
  • Lead cross-functionally within the global matrix, aligning local customer needs with global product engineering, supply chain, and project delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • MBA is highly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technical sales or business development.
  • At least 5+ years of senior sales leader experience within the ANZ energy market.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex business plans that drive consistent, year-over-year market expansion.
  • Expert understanding of Grid Automation portfolios, including Protection & Control (PAC), Substation Automation, Monitoring and Diagnostic, communication products, and digital grid solutions.
  • Established C-suite and executive network within major ANZ utilities, renewable developers, and Tier-1 EPC firms.
  • Proven record of leading successful 'Country Strategy' transformations within large, complex, matrixed multinational organizations.
  • Demonstrable history of managing and exceeding annual sales/order intake targets of $40M+ within the electrical or industrial automation sectors.
  • Demonstrated capacity to transition seamlessly between 'big-picture' country strategy and 'day-to-day' requirements of hands-on deal closure.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; capable of influencing external C-suite stakeholders and internal global leadership.
  • Strong capacity to navigate ambiguity, lead through organizational change, and manage high-stakes, long-cycle energy infrastructure projects.
