About the Role
SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Senior Consultant (Geology) to support mineral resource geology modeling and structural geology projects. This role involves data analysis, 3D geological modeling, geostatistics, mineral resource estimation, and client relationship development.
Responsibilities
- Support mineral resource geology modeling and structural geology projects.
- Conduct data analysis, 3D geological modeling, and geostatistics.
- Perform mineral resource estimation and support due diligence and mining studies.
- Provide operational support and technical reporting.
- Execute structural geology components for exploration, resource definition, engineering, and due diligence studies.
- Perform field and mine litho-structural mapping.
- Analyze drillcore and assess data quality and management.
- Conduct computer-based 2D/3D geological interpretations.
- Develop consulting skills and establish client relationships.
Requirements
- A postgraduate degree specializing in mineral resource estimation and/or the structural geology of mineral deposits.
- 8+ years of applied mineral resource estimation and/or structural geology experience in an exploration or operational capacity.
- Mining/metals exploration experience.
- Strong geostatistical skills and proficiency with computerised resource estimation tools.
- Sound geological understanding of ore deposits with 3D geological modeling skills.
- Professional membership of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) or the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), or eligibility to obtain it.
- A strong theoretical background with demonstrated competence in defining applied solutions.
- Proficiency with GIS and 3D modeling software.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to generate, implement, and complete projects.
- An established network within the mining industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Dynamic and energetic leadership skills, including the ability to mentor younger consultants.
- Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent for industry standards (e.g., National Instrument 43-101, JORC, SAMREC).
- Experience with modern, implicit modelling tools and/or geophysical interpretation (beneficial).
- Prior consulting experience (beneficial).
