About the Role
Rakuten Search group is seeking motivated software service engineers to deliver and maintain a distributed Search platform for Rakuten's global services. The role involves customizing the in-house search platform to meet business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver search services to customers, mastering and customizing the in-house search platform for functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with customers, product managers, backend engineers, QA, and SREs to identify requirements and develop solutions.
- Report defects of existing services and assist in triaging and resolving issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes through innovation, collaboration, automation, and data-driven insights.
- Review and occasionally write code to support duties.
- Conduct end-to-end reviews of service deployment setups before production releases.
- Support troubleshooting of production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in Software Service Engineer and/or Software development, with a proven record of bringing new services to production.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (like Jenkins), integrating test automation seamlessly into continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
