About the Role
Coast is seeking a Business Operations Associate to own and run cross-functional projects tied to the company's top priorities, from initial scoping to final handoff. This role involves working with leaders across the company, leveraging AI for planning and analysis, and driving projects that implement AI across the business. It's a generalist role offering broad exposure to a growth-stage fintech, with opportunities to specialize over time.
Responsibilities
- Own cross-functional projects end to end.
- Run company-level and cross-team initiatives from scoping through launch.
- Keep projects moving across teams that don’t report to you.
- Spot risks and dependencies early, raise them with a recommendation, and keep leaders informed.
- Close projects properly, documenting outcomes and learnings.
- Act as connective tissue across the company, working with various departments.
- Translate between teams, breaking down executive goals into actionable work and synthesizing ground-level input for leadership.
- Run cadences that keep cross-functional work on track.
- Support quarterly planning and goal tracking.
- Scope and evaluate new opportunities, bringing clear recommendations backed by data.
- Build analyses and decision frameworks to help leadership prioritize.
- Use AI in personal project work for planning, synthesis, drafting, analysis, and status reporting.
- Run projects that bring AI into business operations, measuring their impact.
- Evaluate new AI tools and provide recommendations for adoption.
- Share best practices and learnings about AI implementation.
- Define project success metrics and track them with data.
- Pull and analyze data to size problems, test assumptions, and measure results.
- Build clear updates and dashboards for leadership.
Requirements
- 2-4 years in business operations, project or program management, strategy and operations, consulting, or a similar role.
- Fintech, SaaS, or financial services experience is preferred.
- Proven track record of running cross-functional projects with many stakeholders and shipping them on time.
- AI-native mindset: already use AI tools, have built something with them, and are eager to explore further.
- Strong structured thinking: ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical instincts: comfortable with data, spreadsheets, and trend spotting.
- SQL and low-code tools are a plus, with a willingness to learn.
- High ownership mindset: proactively identify and drive issues to completion.
- Track record of moving fast and finding smarter ways to achieve outcomes.
- Organized and process-driven, capable of juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable influencing without authority and working with people at all levels.
- Willingness to apply even if not matching every requirement.
