About the Role
As a cashier, you will be the first and last point of contact for customers, requiring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You will work with the team to ensure the store is opened or closed efficiently and maintain a clean environment. This role involves memorizing product knowledge, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Act as the face of the company, delivering excellent hospitality and service to all customers
- Ensure the customer’s checkout experience is friendly and efficient
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the store according to the company protocols
- Maintaining the front bakery/produce table and cash register shelving
- Facing and stocking all areas of grocery (including dairy)
- Assisting in facing and stocking beer, wine, and spirits when needed
- Setting up and taking down perishable produce at the start and finish of each day
- Demonstrate consistent work attendance
- Stay informed about weekly items and guide customers to product locations throughout the store
- Maintaining a positive, equitable work environment for all staff
- Communicate and collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and/or outside contacts in a timely and appropriate manner and in line with our Communication Code of Conduct
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Proficiency in English
- Must be able to work mornings and weekends
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is a required component of this role; all Cashiers must be available to work at least one weekend day regularly.
