About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join our web team, responsible for all Edconic digital properties. This role offers significant ownership and a voice in development processes, working with a modern WordPress stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain public-facing websites, micro-sites, and landing pages in collaboration with the lead developer, IT, and MarTech.
  • Translate designs into polished, responsive pages that align with brand identity, confirming technical feasibility with UX/UI designers.
  • Build and maintain custom WordPress themes using block-based builds (ACF Blocks, core blocks, block patterns, theme.json) and classic themes (PHP templates, Advanced Custom Fields, Sass).
  • Collaborate with the lead developer to define coding standards, tooling, and workflow, and assist in migrating existing sites to the modern stack.
  • Stay updated on emerging web standards and propose relevant new ideas.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of front-end web development experience.
  • Proficiency in semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress.
  • Ability to build a custom WordPress theme from scratch using PHP templates and Advanced Custom Fields.
  • Strong CSS skills in Sass and modern native CSS (custom properties, nesting).
  • Solid vanilla JavaScript skills.
  • Experience working with Git/GitHub, including pull requests and code reviews.
  • Familiarity with npm-based build tools and the command line.
  • Habit of writing semantic, well-structured HTML covering accessibility basics, with attention to reuse, cross-browser compatibility, performance, and SEO.
  • Experience building and testing HTML emails.
  • Strong UX/UI sensibilities.
  • Proactive and self-directed working style, capable of independent project management and prioritization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
