About the Role
The Receiver is responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving inbound freight and ensuring that its quality meets customer expectations. This role reports to the First Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for the start of the scheduled shift
- Perform a pre-operation inspection of any equipment being used in the receiving process
- Accurately receive items and palletize them for put away
- Adhere to HACCP requirements of refrigerated loads
- Follow company and SQF guidelines when handling products, including the handling of damaged cases found during receiving
- Ensure pallets are properly wrapped to ensure stability though the warehouse
- Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times
- Verify, UPD, Description, and Pack Size of item being received
- Perform additional duties such as selecting, cleaning, or replenishing bays as requested by supervisor
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Organized, self-motivated and possess good communication skills
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to use the RF gun
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time
- Able to lift 75 pounds consistently throughout shift
