About the Role
Tioga Downs is seeking a detail-oriented and observant Security Supervisor to coordinate and oversee Security Associates, ensuring the protection of life and property.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all property areas to identify and report potential security and safety risks.
- Ensure the quality of operations within the Security Department during assigned shifts.
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to Gaming Commission rules and regulations.
- Protect company assets and gaming integrity through continuous monitoring of property activities.
- Direct the flow of Security Reports to appropriate individuals with confidentiality.
- Advise Security Associates on duties and responsibilities, ensuring timely completion.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels through interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, and disciplining associates.
- Review Daily Activity Reports and prepare Shift Reports for the Director of Security.
- Coordinate with the Surveillance Department on matters requiring further investigation.
- Facilitate departmental information flow by attending meetings.
- Observe, document, and report unusual or suspicious activities.
- Inspect premises regularly to identify and report safety or security hazards.
- Review surveillance tapes and reports, providing information to company officials and outside agencies.
- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Make recommendations for policy and procedure changes to protect company assets.
- Maintain and use critical keys to access locked areas.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience in security/surveillance.
- New York State licensed Security Guard.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Minimum of two years in law enforcement, surveillance, or related area.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to detect schemes or cheating activity.
