About the Role
Securitas Technology is seeking a design engineer to create 3D models of integrated security systems. This role involves collaborating with BIM managers and design engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models of integrated security systems designs for customer approval.
- Manage and create design submittals, including drawings, bill of materials, and calculations.
- Maintain design submittals throughout contract changes.
- Work within the Security Technology systems group on the design and integration of various security systems.
- Develop detailed design schematics.
- Review 2D and 3D drawings for electronic and electrical products.
- Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, manufacturers, customers, and external experts.
- Update and modify 3D models as plans and specifications change.
- Extract 2D drawings and construction details from 3D models.
- Perform clash detection analyses to identify conflicts between building elements.
- Attend project clash detection meetings and present clash reports.
- Ensure all models comply with project-specific BIM standards and protocols.
- Create and update BIM families within the project's library.
- Contribute to the development of BIM standards and best practices.
- Handle multiple projects, schedule work, and communicate effectively with peers.
- Be prompt, reliable, and accurate in all aspects of engagement.
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Basic working knowledge of Electronic Security Systems and features.
- Ability to create detailed 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Ability to work closely with Design Engineers, architects, and other team members.
- Ability to update and modify models as plans and specifications change.
- Ability to generate 2D drawings and construction details from 3D models.
- Ability to perform clash detection analyses.
- Ability to attend regular project clash detection meetings.
- Ability to ensure models comply with BIM standards and protocols.
- Ability to create and update BIM families.
- Ability to contribute to BIM standards development.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, schedule work, and communicate effectively.
- Proven experience managing workload and pressure situations.
