About the Role

The Interim Support Lead ensures every customer enjoys an outstanding shopping experience at Five Below. This temporary role involves assisting with front-end operations, cash management, merchandising, cleanliness, safety, and driving sales, while also taking on Manager On Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts. It's an opportunity to gain leadership experience and support the business during peak times or to cover a management leave.

Responsibilities

Ensures all crew members are Wowing the Customer through personal contact with customers.
Trains the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience, ensuring a fast, friendly checkout.
Oversees daily activities of store associates, ensuring effective performance and excellent customer service.
Assists with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock for quick placement on the sales floor.
Acts as Manager on Duty when needed, taking full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing urgent issues.
Manages the process of opening or closing the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Supports the onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
Drives store sales and controls expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
Partners with the store leadership team in merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
Performs store maintenance, including garbage removal, cleaning, and stockroom upkeep.

Requirements

High School Graduate or equivalent.
College experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year of management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Creative thinking.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Frequently operates cash register, computer, hand-held, phone, walkie, and mobile devices.
Frequently moves merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet.
Frequently ascends/descends ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
Frequently positions self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
Frequently communicates and exchanges information with customers and coworkers.
Frequently moves across the sales floor assisting customers and retrieving/putting away merchandise.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts and travel.
Ability to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
