About the Role
Seeking a Fiber Technician experienced in fiber installation, structured cabling, and data center construction. This role involves installing, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting fiber optic infrastructure while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cabling.
- Install cable pathways, ladder racks, fiber trays, and rack cabling.
- Read blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams.
- Utilize OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, and other testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and perform corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate labeling, cable management, and documentation.
- Submit daily progress reports, test results, and as-built documentation.
- Follow OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Requirements
- Fiber optic installation experience
- Data center construction experience
- Structured cabling (SM/MM fiber)
- Experience in active data center environments
- Knowledge of fiber testing and certification standards
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
