About the Role
The Clinician- Licensed is responsible for maintaining a client caseload, identifying goals, and improving emotional, social, and daily functioning with clinical supervisor support.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial history assessment including client problems, strengths, preferences, and cultural background.
- Assist clients in creating and maintaining person-centered treatment plans.
- Attend weekly staff meetings, treatment teams, and supervision.
- Complete mandatory documentation on EHR within established timelines.
- Empower clients and encourage choice, demonstrating sensitivity to racial, cultural, ethnic heritage, and sexual orientation.
- Provide linkage with community resources by maintaining knowledge of systems, making referrals, and identifying unmet needs.
- Provide crisis management services to clients and families via appointment or walk-in.
- Develop a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, families, staff, and agencies.
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling for mental health and/or substance use.
- Collaborate with other local agencies such as DSS, Probation, and Drug Court.
- Complete urine drug screens on clients.
- Comply with OMH, OASAS, New York State, and Federal regulations, laws, and ethical guidelines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work or mental health from an accredited school.
- Licensed eligible.
- Track and maintain professional licensure status if licensed.
- Complete continuing professional education.
- Experience working with mental health and substance use population is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with other local agencies (DSS, Probation, Drug Court).
- Comply with Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), New York State and Federal regulations, laws, and ethical guidelines.
