About the Role

A leading technology systems integration company is seeking motivated Entry-Level Structured Cabling Technicians to support a large-scale commercial construction project in Austin, TX. This role offers hands-on experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, and network infrastructure installation.

Responsibilities

Pull, route, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling.
Assist with the installation and testing of fiber optic cabling systems.
Install, assemble, and support telecommunications infrastructure including racks, cabinets, pathways, and cable management systems.
Install network racks and cabinets in telecommunications rooms and data/server rooms.
Read and interpret project documentation, including floor plans, equipment layouts, reflected ceiling plans, conduit schedules and callouts, wall elevations, signal flow diagrams, and cable pull schedules.
Maintain organized and professional work areas while following project standards and safety requirements.
Utilize basic hand tools and power tools to complete installations.
Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure project deadlines are met.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months of structured cabling experience OR completion of a telecommunications/cabling trade school program.
Experience pulling and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cable.
Understanding of low-voltage installation best practices.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a driving background check.
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Regularly stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop.
Use hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and materials.
Use power tools and installation equipment.
Lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
Work in active construction environments while maintaining safety standards.
Must have hard hat with chin strap, safety glasses, high-visibility safety vest, and steel-toed boots before starting.
Tool pouch, pencil, pen, or Sharpie, utility knife/box cutter, wire strippers, punch-down tool (66 and 110 block), flashlight or headlamp, 10-in-1 screwdriver, security bit screwdriver, 9" magnetic torpedo level, hammer, channel lock pliers, 25' tape measure, diagonal side cutters, long nose pliers, drywall saw, and low-voltage snips will ultimately be required.
