About the Role
Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a Y-axis CNC Lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
- Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
- Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
- Using an offline tool pre-setter, prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
- Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends; adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
- Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
- Run multiple machine centers as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
- Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum; Mazak Integrex experience a plus.
- Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
- Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
- Solid understanding of G-code.
- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.
- May require frequent walking primarily on a level surface.
- Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move materials throughout the workday.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
- May include lifting up to 25 pounds.
- May include frequent pulling, pushing, and grasping.
