About the Role

Ambience is hiring a Chief of Staff to lead the Office of the President (OOTP) and serve as the operating partner to our President and Co-Founder. This high-proximity role offers significant exposure to the founder, board, and the full scope of a high-growth company, working on consequential strategic frontiers.

Responsibilities

  • Run the OOTP as an operating unit, holding full context, setting priorities and OKRs, and ensuring the right people are on the right problems.
  • Build and lead the OOTP team, hiring, onboarding, and developing high-caliber operators, acting as a player-coach.
  • Drive high-stakes partnerships by shaping value stories, running analysis, and coordinating stakeholders.
  • Gather insights from across the company and market to identify issues and ensure the President's time is focused on high-leverage problems.
  • Own the written work, drafting and sharpening memos, board materials, keynotes, and decision documents.
  • Build AI-native operating systems, scaling the company-wide knowledge system and running the OOTP as an AI-first team.
  • Lead through ambiguity by taking ownership of problems that fall outside existing team boundaries and driving them to resolution.

Requirements

  • Proven operator with 5 to 10+ years of experience and a real operating track record, potentially with a foundation in consulting or banking combined with operational results.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing high performers.
  • Quantitatively sharp with the ability to build financial models, structure deals, and reason about unit economics and margin.
  • Exceptional writer with clear, precise, and organized writing skills.
  • Extreme owner who takes hard, ambiguous problems to resolution without constant management.
  • AI-native builder with experience thinking about AI as compounding systems.
  • High slope, demonstrating a significant growth rate and ability to point to new capabilities over time.
  • Mission-aligned with excitement for AI's transformation of healthcare and a desire for partnership with a founder.
  • Experience with foundation models, AI infrastructure, or hyperscaler partnerships is a plus.
  • Familiarity with how large health systems buy, implement, and adopt technology is a plus.
  • Exposure to adjacent healthcare markets such as revenue cycle, payers, or life sciences is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a Chief of Staff, founder's office, or strategy and operations role at a high-growth startup is a plus.
