About the Role

Faithful Pet Memorial is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Aftercare Associate to ensure pets are handled with the utmost respect and dignity throughout their end-of-life journey and that their families’ wishes for memorialization are fulfilled with care. This position involves respectful transport of deceased pets, operation of aquamation machines, creating memorial items, and handling administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor aquamation machines and related equipment, adhering strictly to established health & safety protocols.
Safely and respectfully transport deceased pets from veterinary clinics and/or homes to our aquamation centre using a company vehicle.
Comfortably and respectfully enter client homes to facilitate the gentle transfer of their deceased pet into our care.
Communicate with grieving families and veterinary partners with empathy, warmth, professionalism, and clarity.
Craft and prepare memorial keepsakes such as ink and clay paw prints, fur clippings and engraved urns.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and respectful atmosphere in all areas of the facility.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive, compassionate, and collaborative work culture.
Work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.

Requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with a natural ability to connect empathetically and sincerely with people experiencing loss.
Comfort with deceased animals, aftercare processes, and navigating highly emotionally charged situations with poise and dignity.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to ethical standards.
Comfort using and learning custom computer tools and software such as Gmail and Zoom.
Possess valid Ontario G class driver's license with a minimal of 3 years driving experience and a clean driving abstract.
Comfort driving a company vehicle across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in varying traffic and weather conditions.
Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and transfer up to 75lbs independently.
Physical ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, drive, and handle equipment throughout an 8-hour shift.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient, client, and business information.
Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Faithful Pet Memorial (FPM) is the first pet aquamation (or water-based cremation) service in the City of Toronto and is the primary aftercare provider for Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services (MMVHS), a Lap of Love practice, Toronto’s largest mobile vet practice focused exclusively on end-of-life care.
FPM was established to provide MMVHS clients and pet parents across the GTA with an eco-friendly alternative to traditional flame-based cremation and burial.
Families can rest assured that their beloved pets will remain in our care throughout the entire end-of-life process.
