About the Role
As the Director of People at vCluster Labs, you will design and implement strategic programs, tools, and infrastructure to support a rapidly growing, globally distributed team. This AI-first role focuses on building innovative HR solutions that scale efficiently, moving beyond traditional HR practices to shape the future of people operations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of People to translate people strategy into actionable programs.
- Manage initiatives from ideation through rollout, including compensation reviews and performance cycles.
- Develop and implement AI-first tooling and automations for recruiting, onboarding, policy inquiries, manager support, and reporting.
- Oversee global employment compliance, including contracts, statutory benefits, working time rules, and terminations, particularly for the German workforce.
- Manage the Employer of Record (EOR) setup and support decisions regarding country entity establishment.
- Maintain accuracy of Rippling as the system of record for employee data.
- Develop policies and lifecycle processes to support company growth from 130 to 250+ employees.
- Create and execute leadership development programs for managers globally.
- Design and implement global culture programs and events, including offsites and remote rituals.
- Measure employee engagement and program effectiveness, iterating based on feedback and data.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in HR or People Operations.
- 3+ years of experience building global people programs at a US-headquartered, high-growth technology company.
- Direct experience managing employment for a German workforce, including contracts, notice periods, works councils, data privacy, and terminations.
- Hands-on experience with EOR and entity management across the US, EMEA, and other regions.
- Experience supporting a remote team across multiple time zones with asynchronous programs and support.
- Experience running Rippling as an HRIS and payroll platform, ensuring data consistency.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools daily to build real workflows, agents, or automations that replace manual HR tasks.
- Proven experience building leadership training and culture programs from scratch with measurable outcomes.
