About the Role
As our first Solutions Engineer, you'll be the technical expert in customer conversations, proving Tolmo's capabilities. You will collaborate with founders and sales to convert security and engineering leaders into believers, and relay field insights back into product development. This is an early-stage, high-ownership role where you will help define our playbook.
Responsibilities
- Run technical discovery to identify customer exposure, shipping speed, review bottlenecks, and breach costs.
- Design and deliver tailored demos showcasing Tolmo's production graph reasoning and risk/remediation capabilities.
- Own proofs-of-value from qualification and success criteria definition to technical win.
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor for security engineers, VP Engineering, and CISO/CIO.
- Author clear responses to security questionnaires and RFPs, including data handling, deployment, and pentest evidence.
- Coordinate with Tolmo security leads for agent-assisted pentesting campaigns.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to integrate field feedback into future development.
- Develop proof-of-value playbooks and reusable assets to enhance team efficiency.
Requirements
- Own technical conversations from discovery to proof-of-value.
- Translate deep technical details into clear business value for diverse audiences.
- Be hands-on across cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD, code, and terminal environments.
- Quickly learn unfamiliar technology stacks.
- Utilize AI coding agents daily for prototyping and development.
- Understand attacker methodologies and system vulnerabilities.
- Thrive in ambiguous environments and define new processes.
