About the Role
Local Retail Driver responsible for picking up preloaded trailers and making deliveries to TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores within a 275-mile radius of Syracuse, NY. Deliveries are within Upstate NY only, excluding NYC and the metro area. This role involves unloading pallets using a pallet jack, sometimes requiring a liftgate, counting pallets, reporting discrepancies, and securing loads. Occasional assistance at local accounts or warehouses may be required.
Responsibilities
- Pick up preloaded trailers and make 4 to 5 stops a day (about 22 a week)
- Deliveries within 275 miles of Syracuse, Upstate NY only (no NYC or metro area)
- Unload pallets with a pallet jack into store backrooms
- Utilize a liftgate for stops without a dock
- Count pallets and note quantities on the BOL
- Report discrepancies
- Secure the load between stops
- Occasionally help at local accounts or warehouses
Requirements
- Valid Class A license
- At least 6 months of tractor-trailer experience
- Pass urine and hair follicle drug screening
- Own reliable transportation to work
- Complete 3 to 7 days of training, depending on experience

- Averages about $92,000 a year
- $0.69 to $0.83 per mile
- $53.61 to $56.81 per pallet for hand unloading
- $38.29 to $40.56 per stop
- $25.00 to $28.58 per hour for yard work
- $20 per hour for onboarding and safety training
- $200 per day holiday pay
