About the Role
General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman to produce design deliverables from sketches, layouts, and concepts for manufacturing, assembly, and testing. The role offers opportunities for skill development through on-the-job experience and continued education.
Responsibilities
- Produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of design experience
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprint drawings
- Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) is required (NX preferred)
- Experience with mechanical systems
- Experience with CATIA and/or NX
- Experience in Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing

- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Ability to perform design related math functions
