About the Role

The Skin Care Consultant (SCC) is responsible for maximizing sales in the skin category by engaging guests to determine their individual needs, assisting guests in the selection and purchase of skin care merchandise, and maintaining overall store standards. They support the Experience Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process. This position requires knowledge of skin needs, concerns and functions, a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Responsibilities

Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink and omni-channel sales, with a specific focus on the skin care category.
Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending complementary products or services.
Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
Routinely perform skincare analysis and product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and the guest experience.
Book appointments for, and support the execution of, services and in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while delivering on skin care sales goals.
Stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business.
Regularly participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive skin care sales performance.
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are available and maintained in compliance with hygiene standards.
Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and processing shipment using Ulta Beauty’s technology and best practices.
Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.
Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Demonstrate significant competency in sales, products, and service
Demonstrate a passion for skin care, solution-oriented products, and consultative selling
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
