About the Role

The Regulatory team analyzes financial regulations and translates them into algorithms. This role involves taking ownership of regulatory analysis across various jurisdictions, interpreting compliance regulations, and working with legal information providers. It combines finance, law, and technology, requiring hands-on application of judgment to interpret regulation and code rules directly into the company's rules engine. You will own regulatory work from analysis through implementation and testing, collaborating with Product, Client Services, and Engineering to enhance services and rules. The role offers a chance for meaningful ownership within a fast-moving SaaS company.

Responsibilities

  • Independently analyse financial regulation and translate complex requirements into domain-specific rule language.
  • Own regulatory changes and rule updates through analysis, implementation, testing, and release.
  • Apply judgement to regulatory interpretation, identifying ambiguities or risks and escalating complex issues.
  • Investigate client queries relating to regulatory interpretation and rule logic, collaborating with Client Services to provide answers.
  • Work directly with the legal information provider to research and clarify regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on modifications and enhancements to services, providing a regulatory perspective.
  • Review and test regulatory rules to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team processes and implement practical improvements.
  • Contribute to team standards and best practices for regulatory analysis, coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and support less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in a regulatory, compliance, legal, technical, quantitative, or business analyst role, ideally within financial services or RegTech.
  • Experience interpreting complex requirements or regulation and turning them into clear, practical outputs.
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, bonds, and derivatives.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of work, recognizing when additional input or escalation is needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence to work through ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A precise and logical approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to wider team processes.
  • Permission to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
