About the Role
Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to support on-site at the client's yard and work at the shop in Syracuse, New York. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues and ensuring fleet vehicles run reliably, with extensive expertise required for aftertreatment repairs and diagnostic software.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
- Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
Requirements
- 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to own and maintain personal tools and toolbox
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)
