About the Role
BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. is seeking an Associate to join their Investment Management team. This role involves partnering with senior investment professionals to drive the direct investment process through due diligence, financial modeling, and analysis. You will also assist in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, monitoring portfolio companies, and supporting the development of marketing and client content.
Responsibilities
- Perform company and industry due diligence, financial modeling, and quantitative/qualitative analyses to support the direct investment process.
- Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities.
- Monitor and manage existing portfolio companies, driving value creation initiatives and evaluating exit options.
- Support the development and maintenance of product marketing and client content, including presentations, due diligence materials, and client communications.
- Assist with fundraising by delivering relevant materials, thought leadership, and client responses.
- Complete prepared materials and speaking notes for senior leadership.
- Lead client diligence for a global set of clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or related field.
- 36 months of experience in job offered or closely related role.
- Three years of experience in ESG and sustainability frameworks.
- Three years of experience in financial modeling skills, including 3 statement, valuation, M&A and LBO, and sensitivity analysis.
- Three years of experience in company and industry due diligence.
- Three years of experience in Unit Economics, cohort analysis, and business model evaluation.
- Three years of experience in drafting investment memos and diligence summaries.
- Three years of experience evaluating strategic and operational value-creation initiatives.
- Three years of experience with technologies including PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, eFront, and Smartsheets.
- One year of experience in investment in one or more private market classes, including Private Equity, Private Credit, or Real Assets.
- One year of experience coordinating transaction advisors.
- One year of experience with strong project management abilities across workstreams.
