About the Role
WEIS is seeking associates who are passionate about teamwork, associate growth, and community involvement, offering respect, understanding, and appreciation.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, discuss needs, make suggestions, handle special requests, and resolve concerns professionally.
- Operate scanning equipment and cash register, performing checkout procedures and bagging merchandise.
- Maintain transaction accuracy, ensuring proper collection of funds and adherence to security and cash drawer procedures.
- Follow store and legal guidelines for sales of regulated items like alcohol.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking deliveries using power or hand jacks (training provided).
- Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure availability, maintain freshness, and apply correct pricing and signage.
- Handle expired or damaged product according to company procedures.
- Follow merchandising guidelines and utilize displays to drive sales.
- Maintain general sanitation in the department, adhering to cleaning schedules and health/OSHA requirements.
- Review product and supply orders, minimize losses through inspection and proper handling, and report discrepancies.
- Ensure smooth department and store operations by cooperating with colleagues and supervisors.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to work within the Beer and Wine Cafe.
