About the Role
Lead Solcoa's Engineering team in developing and scaling novel rare earth metal production processes, owning the full metal production development program from research to full-scale reactor design, and overseeing the engineering, construction, and commissioning of the first commercial facility.
Responsibilities
- Own the design of the metal production process to achieve cost parity with China.
- Identify bottlenecks and simplify Solcoa's process.
- Lead the design and engineering of modular high-temperature metallothermic reduction reactors.
- Organize research, simulations, and mechanical engineering teams for reactor fabrication.
- Identify key requirements, milestones, and ensure delivery of the operating process at Solcoa One.
- Lead the process engineering team responsible for designing the process and balancing the plant.
- Work with the Head of Capital Projects to engineer, staff, commission, and ramp up the largest rare earth metal production plant in the United States.
- Define weekly goals and long-term milestones for research, process development, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Identify hiring needs and capital budget needs for achieving metal capacity goals.
- Participate in major decisions defining the direction of Solcoa’s metal production business.
