About the Role
The Employment Specialist will coach persons with developmental disabilities and prepare them for employment. This role involves developing essential job skills and assisting with job placement.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
- Coach individuals with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
- Work side-by-side with individuals with disabilities at job sites.
- Reinforce essential skills or teach new skills such as resume development, successful job interviewing, and completing job applications.
- Accurately complete all documentation.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Cooperate with license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time work experience supporting people with disabilities.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks for criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.
