About the Role
First Databank (FDB) is seeking a Brand Communications Manager to own the company's brand voice and public narrative. This role involves editorial planning, social media presence, media relations, customer stories, and website content, ensuring consistency, credibility, and clinical accuracy across all channels. It's a hands-on opportunity for a professional to manage vendor relationships and lead content programs involving various stakeholders, supporting FDB's expansion from a drug knowledge provider to a clinical guidance partner.
Responsibilities
- Own brand voice, editorial planning, crisis communication and FDB’s public narrative across social presence, media relations, customer stories, blogging and the website editorial layer.
- Approve routine external content and media engagement within approved talking points; escalate new positioning, sensitive claims, and external risk to the Vice President of Marketing.
- Manage day-to-day vendor and agency relationships; recommend vendor and messaging changes.
- Lead cross-functional content programs spanning Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Clinical stakeholders.
- Guide responsible use of AI-assisted content tools — building reusable brand controls, prompt libraries, templates, and factual-error review workflows — to expand production capacity while keeping brand voice and clinical accuracy human-led.
Requirements
- Strong B2B content and media track record, with demonstrated ownership across multiple channels (web, social, media relations, customer stories).
- Vendor and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and editorial judgment, including the ability to operate confidently with AI-assisted tools under human review.
- Ability to translate brand strategy into day-to-day editorial decisions and content standards.
- Collaborative style with strong cross-functional partnership across Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Clinical teams.
- 5–7 years of communications experience, including demonstrated ownership of cross-functional programs.
- Healthcare or health-IT experience preferred, or demonstrated ability to quickly build fluency in a regulated, clinically sensitive content environment.
- Experience managing vendor and agency relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
