About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Specialty Care Growth, this Senior Software Engineer I will build and own full-stack experiences that help members discover, access, and stay engaged in Specialty Care. This role is part of the Specialty Care Growth team and is instrumental in driving growth and retention for Specialty Care through rapid experimentation and iteration.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and optimize production-ready code daily while making key technical decisions and holding a high bar for code quality.
- Lead technical design reviews and produce technical designs as a primary author—delivering elegant solutions to complex problems.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to support technical design, explore tradeoffs, accelerate delivery, and augment code reviews—while critically evaluating all AI-generated output to ensure it meets team quality and security standards.
- Identify repeatable tasks that can be accelerated with AI; guide junior engineers on effective and responsible AI usage.
- Lead multi-person, multi-sprint projects: coordinate execution, manage dependencies and tradeoffs, and build alignment across stakeholders.
- Raise and address security concerns in PRs and designs; proactively highlight performance implications and conduct load/performance testing.
- Drive engineering best practices within your team—your code quality and approach serve as a model for others.
- Mentor and actively develop engineers at earlier career stages through code reviews, pairing, and direct coaching.
- Own operational excellence: exemplify best practices in logging, alerting, and monitoring; methodically investigate incidents and provide root cause analyses.
- Design, build, and iterate on full-stack experiences that support growth and retention for Specialty Care.
- Partner closely with product, design, and data in a fast-moving pod to turn hypotheses into focused experiments, ship incremental changes, and use results to guide the next iteration.
- Implement reliable instrumentation and safe rollouts so the team can evaluate experiments, learn quickly, and scale successful changes while maintaining member trust and care quality.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering clean, maintainable, secure code
- Comfortable working on an agile team; curious about learning new things, including evolving AI capabilities
- Proven ability to mentor and develop other engineers
