About the Role
The Medical Writer is an entry-level role responsible for developing clear, accurate, and engaging scientific content for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clients. Working closely with senior scientific staff and cross-functional teams, the Medical Writer supports the delivery of high-quality content that meets client objectives and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Research, write, edit, and reference scientific materials, including slide decks, meeting summaries, posters, manuscripts, training materials, and digital content.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings accurately.
- Proofread and annotate content according to AMA, client, and internal style guidelines.
- Maintain document version control and filing standards.
- Partner with scientific, account, design, editorial, and other cross-functional teams.
- Participate in client meetings and support content-related discussions.
- Ensure scientific accuracy of visuals and interactive materials.
- Support medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review processes and comment resolution.
- Review content for scientific accuracy, readability, grammar, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Assist with research, data verification, and reference checks.
- Build knowledge of therapeutic areas, medical terminology, and industry trends.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
- Seek guidance when needed and contribute positively to team success.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field preferred (e.g., MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD).
- Relevant bachelor's or master's degree with applicable experience may be considered.
- Strong scientific writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate scientific data accurately.
- Familiarity with AMA style guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
