About the Role
Little Lana Daycare in Jamaica, NY is seeking a warm, caring, and enthusiastic Daycare Assistant to foster a safe and nurturing environment for young children. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in early childhood development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and learning exercises.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and personal hygiene.
- Support lead teachers in implementing structured early childhood education programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and play environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's daily progress.
- Monitor children's behavior and apply positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assist with diapering, potty training, and other childcare needs as required.
Requirements
- Prior experience in childcare, daycare, or early childhood education preferred.
- Genuine passion for working with infants, toddlers, and young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patience, compassion, and professionalism at all times.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential a plus.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with New York State childcare regulations.
