About the Role
Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker for a healthcare clinic serving diverse clients, including those with various risk levels and specific needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist detainees with activities of daily living, including feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
- Provide additional care as delegated by a registered health practitioner, ensuring safe and legal practice.
- Monitor detainee well-being and environment, reporting and documenting changes to medical resources.
- Communicate basic information to detainees, CBSA officers, or contracted security resources per a care plan.
- Complete and maintain records, including reports, system updates, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with medical service resources and the CBSA.
- Provide mobility and social support.
- Perform administrative tasks and follow up with other healthcare providers.
Requirements
- A copy of a PSW certificate from a recognized college.
- A minimum of one year of experience working as a Personal Support Worker within the last five years.
- A valid RELIABILITY STATUS security clearance.
- A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) obtained within the last year.
- Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification obtained within the last two years.
