About the Role
This is a full-time evening position operating the telephone control board and paging system, dispatching calls, and paging staff during and after business hours. The role coordinates telecommunication systems including telephone, voice mail, pager, cell phone, and public address paging.
Responsibilities
- Operate telephone control board and paging system.
- Dispatch incoming calls.
- Page internal/external and on-call clinical staff during and after regular business hours.
- Coordinate the operation of various telecommunication systems, including telephone, voice mail, pager, cell phone/Nextel phones, and public address paging system.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous operator/switchboard and customer service experience.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS products.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of health system switchboard, voice mail, paging, and cell phone/Nextel phone systems.
- Ability to function calmly under stressful situations.
- Ability to be flexible in decision-making and prioritizing assignments.
- Ability to work independently and within a group.
- Ability to guard the confidentiality of sensitive information.
