About the Role
The Acting Lead Housekeeper prepares work assignments, monitors and trains housekeeping staff to ensure all procedures are completed to department standards.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates to communicate guest service scores.
- Must be flexible in scheduling, including holidays and weekends.
- Fosters a teamwork mentality with staff and other leads by leading by example.
- Trains and develops new staff members in accordance with department standard operating procedures.
- Assists in the preparation of schedules and reviews.
- Practices safe work habits, wears protective safety equipment, and enforces safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Coaches and counsels employees in accordance with the disciplinary process.
- Prepares all paperwork to complete work orders and submits them to the Facilities Department.
- Leads staff efficiently and effectively by assigning tasks and inspecting work for conformance to standards.
- Possesses a strong work ethic, positive attitude, is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work well independently.
- Performs basic computer work.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Exposed to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
