About the Role
Reporting into the Brand Marketing Director, the Head of Social will define and drive TALA’s organic social strategy and growth agenda across key social channels. This role involves leading the social team, setting strategic direction, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring social channels build brand awareness, cultural relevance, community, and channel growth. The position requires balancing creativity with data and commercial thinking to build a social presence that drives business forward and collaborates closely with various teams to integrate social into the wider marketing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve TALA’s organic social strategy across Instagram and TikTok, with oversight of Pinterest and LinkedIn, setting clear objectives, channel roles, audiences, content pillars and KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to grow TALA’s social audience, reach and relevance, developing strategies to increase awareness, engagement and community.
- Own the social planning process and ensure the calendar is driven by clear business, brand, product and customer priorities.
- Make clear recommendations on where the team should focus time, resources and investment.
- Set the strategic direction for content creation, identifying formats, stories, behaviours and cultural moments that will help TALA grow.
- Provide clear strategic direction and briefs to content creators, ensuring content is distinctive, relevant, engaging and effective against KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to create stop-and-look moments that capture attention and drive conversation.
- Challenge the team to think differently about idea execution, finding unexpected, culturally relevant and creatively disruptive ways to make TALA stand out and content travel.
- Stay ahead of social, cultural and platform trends, identifying opportunities for TALA to participate in conversations authentically.
- Partner with the Marketing team and Creative Director on campaign strategy, ensuring social plays a clear role in building awareness, excitement and cultural relevance.
- Develop channel strategies and rollout plans for key campaigns and launches.
- Own the analysis of social performance, customer behaviour and competitor activity.
- Turn data into clear insights and recommendations, using performance to continuously improve strategy.
- Develop a test-and-learn approach across social, identifying new formats, platforms, creators and ways of working.
- Test, learn and scale what works.
- Lead, develop and inspire the social and content creation team, setting clear objectives, ways of working and standards.
- Ensure the team understands the 'why' behind their work and what it needs to achieve.
- Work closely with Brand, Creative, Performance, PR, Influencer, Product and Ecommerce to ensure social is fully integrated into the wider marketing and commercial strategy.
- Oversee the overall health and performance of TALA’s social channels, ensuring content is consistent, on-brand and delivering against agreed objectives.
- Provide strategic direction while empowering the team to own day-to-day execution.
- Own weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting against social KPIs, providing clear insights, recommendations and actions.
- Partner with the Head of Performance Marketing to create a boosting strategy.
- Keep TALA ahead of how social is evolving, ensuring new ways to grow the audience.
- Partner and align with the Creative Director on the visual representation of BAU, drops and campaign assets.
Requirements
- Significant professional social media experience, ideally within a fast-moving fashion, beauty, lifestyle or consumer brand.
- Proven track record of working closely with a Creative team.
- Highly collaborative with key stakeholders including Brand, Creative, Performance, PR, Influencer, Product and Ecommerce.
- Demonstrate how a social presence has been grown through a clear strategic approach, not just content volume.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering social strategies that have driven audience and brand growth.
- Deep understanding of Instagram and TikTok, with knowledge of Pinterest and LinkedIn.
- Highly analytical and commercially minded, able to interpret data and turn it into clear strategic recommendations.
- Strong understanding of social culture, trends, formats and what makes content travel.
- Experience developing social strategies, content frameworks, channel plans and campaign rollouts.
- Experience managing and fostering development across a team, with the ability to set direction, inspire creativity and create a high-performing team culture.
- Excellent cross-functional collaborator and communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and multiple teams.
- Highly organised and an excellent project manager, able to bring clarity and structure to a fast-moving environment.
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment: working lean, moving quickly and finding solutions with available resources.
- Equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and getting into the detail when required.
- Driven, ambitious and solution-oriented, with a genuine passion for finding new opportunities for growth.
- Strong understanding of the TALA brand and customer, and excitement about shaping TALA’s growth.
