Reporting to Claims leadership, you will own the global Claims Vendor Management governance framework, covering the full vendor lifecycle from strategy to exit, and collaborate across multiple departments to ensure a consistent, risk-based, and commercially effective approach that meets evolving regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Shape global claims vendor strategy and governance.
  • Own and develop the Global Claims Vendor Management governance framework, policies, standards, and operating model.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, governance forums, and escalation pathways across the vendor lifecycle.
  • Assess the maturity of the control environment and create a prioritized improvement roadmap.
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments to ensure framework evolution.
  • Develop practical guidance and training for colleagues.
  • Oversee consistent risk and materiality assessment across claims vendor arrangements.
  • Coordinate risk-based due diligence, including financial stability, regulatory compliance, financial crime, information security, data protection, operational capability, and business continuity.
  • Ensure material risk acceptances, exceptions, and mitigating actions are documented, approved, and tracked.
  • Govern vendor onboarding, ensuring contracts, approvals, operating protocols, data, and reporting arrangements are in place.
  • Maintain oversight of material subcontracting and fourth-party dependencies.
  • Establish a clear performance framework for material and critical vendors, incorporating service, quality, cost, customer outcomes, and risk.
  • Develop meaningful executive-level management information for decision-making.
  • Partner with Claims Quality Assurance and Claims Operations to develop the vendor assurance and audit program.
  • Oversee annual vendor recertification and ensure remediation of material findings.
  • Challenge performance when expectations are not met and ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Partner with Claims Operations, Risk, Legal, and vendor partners to develop business continuity, contingency, and exit arrangements.
  • Ensure critical relationships have appropriate plans for alternative providers, internal fallback, customer continuity, knowledge transfer, data migration, and transition.
  • Coordinate scenario testing and ensure lessons learned lead to improvements.
  • Develop operational, executive, and board-level insight into the vendor population.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data, analytics, and technology use in vendor governance.
  • Support governance around vendors' use of AI, automation, and decision-making technologies.
  • Act as a senior subject-matter expert and trusted advisor on claims vendor governance, outsourcing, and third-party risk.
  • Build strong relationships across Claims and Everest's control functions, providing constructive challenge.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement, regulatory, and remediation programs.
  • Translate complex regulatory and control requirements into practical solutions.
  • Build capability through coaching, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Significant experience across claims vendor management, third-party risk, outsourcing governance, procurement, operational risk, or a related insurance control environment.
  • Strong experience across the vendor lifecycle, including risk assessment, due diligence, sourcing, contracting, onboarding, performance management, remediation, and exit.
  • A good understanding of outsourced and delegated claims operating models, including TPAs, independent adjusters, legal services, and specialist claims providers.
  • Experience designing or operating governance frameworks, control environments, RACI models, policy frameworks, and executive reporting.
  • The ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into pragmatic, proportionate controls.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience using management information, dashboards, and trend analysis to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and find pragmatic solutions.
  • A strong control mindset without losing sight of commercial realities or customer outcomes.
  • Ability to bring together multiple stakeholders around a common framework.
  • Maintain appropriate working knowledge of relevant third-party risk, outsourcing, operational resilience, conduct, and data requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Experience in Lloyd's and the London Market, delegated authority, and claims oversight is advantageous.
  • Experience in international insurance operations across the UK, Ireland, Continental Europe, North America, LATAM, or APAC is advantageous.
  • Experience with claims management platforms, vendor workflow technology, and reporting solutions such as Power BI is advantageous.
