About the Role

As a member of the Quantum Architecture team, you will design, simulate, and optimize protocols for implementing fault-tolerant non-Clifford gates in Xanadu’s photonic quantum computer. This role involves research on generating high-quality magic states using cultivation, distillation, and other protocols, on measurement-based implementations for continuous-variable degrees of freedom, and evaluation of these methods via simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, simulating, and optimizing protocols for implementing fault-tolerant non-Clifford gates in Xanadu’s photonic quantum computer.
  • Research on generating high-quality magic states using cultivation, distillation, and other protocols.
  • Research on measurement-based implementations of these protocols for continuous-variable degrees of freedom.
  • Evaluation of these methods via simulations.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in quantum error-correction, qLDPC codes, or code deformation.
  • Expertise in linear algebra.
  • Knowledge of magic-state protocols including injection, cultivation, and distillation.
  • Demonstrated programming skills (e.g., for research, coursework, or personal projects).
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (e.g., papers, posters, conference talks, teaching experience).
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities/deadlines.
