About the Role
We are seeking eager individuals to join our Food & Beverage team, providing top-level service that matches our cuisine and product quality. The ideal candidates will be trained professionals who communicate well, are dependable, and enthusiastic, with a passion for food and beverage. You will read guests properly to ensure quality service, leaving a lasting impression and a memorable experience.
Responsibilities
- Serving experience in an upscale market
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage (wine and champagne knowledge is a plus)
- Manual handling
- Able to work well under pressure during times of high-volume service
- Exceptional upselling techniques
- Ensure all allergy procedures are followed at all times
- Work in Mini Bar when necessary
- Take personal responsibility for punctuality
Requirements
- Experience as a Room Service Server or a Server in a hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Knowledge of the Micros POS system
- Highly organized
- Must be open to working AM/PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Full understanding of New York City Health Department standards and regulations
- Be able to stand for a complete 8-hour shift, 5 days a week
- Ability to read, review, enter, and retrieve information from and into a Point of Sale system, preferably Micros
- Able to use a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone system
- Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally, and use systems to document activities
- Visual acuity to see restaurant menus and Micros screens, take customer orders, review customer bills, and smoothly navigate the dining room, kitchen, and other restaurant areas
- Ability to balance dishes, bend, stoop, and reach to place and retrieve plates, glassware, and other serving items
- Can multitask with a keen sense of attention to detail to make certain tables are served and bussed properly
- Demonstrates the basics of polishing, marking, spot checking, and crumbing tables
- Available to work a flexible schedule that can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
