About the Role
The Finance Manager - UK is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations of the UK business. The role oversees transactional finance, banking and treasury, capital expenditure and lease accounting, while owning UK management reporting and performance analysis. The primary objective is to ensure strong financial control, accurate accounting, and timely delivery of financial information and business insight.
Responsibilities
- Own UK reporting and performance analysis
- Deliver meaningful insight to drive commercial decision-making
- Produce ad hoc analysis, modelling, and scenario planning
- Develop KPI dashboards and performance reporting
- Prepare monthly business review materials and executive commentary for UK and US leadership
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain accruals and prepayments schedules
- Support journal preparation and posting
- Reconcile key control accounts and investigate variances
- Assist with month-end reporting and financial close activities
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and annual audit requirements
- Support audit requests and preparation of accounting schedules
- Assist with VAT and other UK tax reporting obligations
- Maintain compliance with UK accounting policies and internal controls
- Perform daily and monthly bank account reconciliations
- Process payments and administer payment files
- Manage treasury administration and cash activities
- Prepare UK funding requests and cash forecasts
- Reconcile Restaurant sales, card receipts and cash deposits to bank records
- Code and track Restaurant build costs
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Capitalize assets
- Track spend versus new Restaurant opening budgets
- Maintain the lease database and supporting schedules
- Prepare monthly lease accounting entries and reconciliations
- Monitor lease payments and ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data
- Support accounting for new leases, modifications and renewals
- Assist with reporting and disclosures related to leased properties
- Manage the processing of supplier invoices and credit notes, including supplier query resolution and statement reconciliations
- Manage supplier onboarding and account maintenance
- Prepare and execute payment runs
- Ensure expenditure is coded accurately and approved in line with company policy
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen controls
- Support finance systems implementations and enhancements
- Assist with automation of transactional finance processes
Requirements
- Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of accuracy and commitment to maintaining financial integrity
- Must hold valid Right to Work in the UK
