About the Role

This role involves working with a client's finance team to identify issues, design improved processes, finance structures, and supporting technology. It offers advisory work across the finance-technology landscape, focusing on understanding various platforms rather than deep specialization in one product. You will grow quickly on real programs alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

Participate in and lead design and discovery workshops with clients.
Prepare workshop materials and facilitate discussions with finance and technology stakeholders.
Document agreed-upon outcomes from workshops.
Gather and structure business requirements.
Define problems thoroughly, analyzing current state, costs, and necessary changes.
Produce clear analysis and options to inform decision-making.
Design and improve core finance processes (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, Acquire-to-Retire).
Contribute to fit-to-standard and fit-gap analysis comparing current processes to target platforms and best practices.
Develop process designs that improve financial close, reporting confidence, and control.
Understand and document finance backbone elements like legal entities, ledgers, and chart of accounts.
Gather reporting and statutory requirements to inform enterprise structure decisions.
Prepare options and analysis for enterprise structure decisions.
Hold sensible conversations with clients across a range of platform topics.
Contribute to technology selection and vendor assessment.
Support the business case and return on investment for platform implementations.
Discuss the impact of AI on finance functions, including reconciliations, close tasks, and forecasting.
Contribute to designing AI-enabled ways of working into target processes.
Manage day-to-day client relationships within your scope.
Own your scope, follow through on commitments, and manage expectations and timelines.
Contribute to target operating model design for finance functions and shared services.
Work in a design-thinking, agile manner, co-developing solutions with clients.

Requirements

Experience in workshops, requirements gathering, and problem definition.
Working knowledge of core finance processes (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, Acquire-to-Retire).
Skill in designing and improving finance processes.
Understanding of enterprise structure and chart of accounts design.
Experience with an enterprise finance platform program (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or comparable).
Understanding of how finance platform programs are agreed upon and built.
Ability to hold credible conversations about AI's impact on finance functions.
Understanding of the importance of data, controls, and process in AI implementation.
Ability to work in a design-thinking, agile way.
Ability to take ownership and follow through.
Ability to work well in a team and build trusted relationships.
Comfort with ambiguity in complex finance organizations.
Good judgment and critical thinking for undefined problems.
Clear and considered communication of reasoning.
Credibility across all levels of client management.
Ability to explain technical points to mixed audiences.
Engagement with AI's changes in finance and formed personal views.
Experience across more than one ERP or finance platform is a plus.
Experience running workshops and discovery sessions with client finance teams is a plus.
Experience contributing to technology selection or vendor assessment is a plus.
Hands-on exposure to AI or agentic tooling in a finance or delivery setting is a plus.
Fluency in design-thinking and agile delivery methods is a plus.
Awareness of how controls, intercompany, or tax considerations shape finance design is a plus.
A professional finance or accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent industry experience is a plus.
